Some things we learned from Kids about our Advertising

Kids had this to say about our advertising:

Fruity Treasure Adventure
Really familiar but kind of played out
Getting predictable
Not super exciting

Stolen Colors
Really cool
Cool story
Cool how Toucan got his colors back but then was cool to the Peacock guy
That whole puzzle thing was cool
Dug how the nephews helped Toucan
Was exciting

Land of Scent
New food is cool
Liked how the new food got shared at the end
Queen wanted the Loops 'cause they smelled so good
Nephews solved a puzzle - that was cool yo.

Some things we learned from Kids about the Nephews

Kids had things like this to say after we showed them a bunch of work.

The Nephews:
They seem young
Kids think they're about 4 or 5
But, in Stolen Colors and Land of Scent they seemed older, like 8 or 9
Nephews being older is cooler
They like when the nephews have role to play
Right now the nephews just seem along for the ride.

Net: we need to make the 'phews relevant to kids. Our target is 6-8. We should make our 'phews relatable and inspirational. A little more sensational.

Some things we learned from Kids about Toucan Sam

Here's what kids told us about our beloved spokesbird after we showed them a bunch spots.

Toucan:
Kids think he's kind of funny
They know he's a bird, but not totally sure of his name
They know he finds Froot Loops
They think he's always looking for Froot Loops
They think he's curious and adventurous

Some things we learned from Kids about the Food

We talked to kids about Froot Loops recently. Here are some things we learned (in no particular order):

The food:
They love the food
The food is delicious
The food is fruity
The colors represent the fruity taste
Colors make kids think the food will taste good

Our focus will be on color.

The last few years have focused on one thing: Froot Loops as the "most desirable fruity experience."

Problem is, that is exactly a few things: fruity color, fruity aroma, and fruity taste.

We think unbundling the three is exciting.

So, this time we will focus on color. Color is what draws kids in. Color is what represents the fruity flavor. Color is exciting. Color is what separates us from Lucky Charms.

FrootLoops.com

At one point this was ToucanSam.com. It is now FrootLoops.com.

Check it out. Explore it. Think about what should stay and what should go. Think about how it can be better.
